Knock knock...

Knock, knock...

Failure is not an option?

Failure is the only way to unlock the gates that lead to one's truth.  It is a moment that go beyond not overcoming adversities or not succeeding in the pursuit of a goal in the material realm. These are the  fights that oblige one to face the type of shit that nightmares are made of.

In the arena where inner battles are the ones that matter, fear and failure are the espressos that the soul need for awakening and fight with all I have.

About a year ago I did the unforgivable: took a leading fall in the big mountains. When a whipper feels like the power of a lightning bolt going thru every cell, it awakens something inside but also tears some apart.

During a casual training mission to attempt an unclimbed line in a beloved mountain near home, a loose flake on waist deep faceted snow at the end of a steep pitch made clear to me that gravity is stronger than any sweet talk I can propose. The situation made us abandon without hesitation. Maybe we left the place but you cannot just walk away from something like this.

After such an experience you are marked like cattle with a hot brand, that stuff calcifies to the marrow, deeper than you thought was possible. A piece inside is broken and won't be glued in again until you get it with your own dirty hands. No one can't pick it up for you. Then one's ought to come back up and deal with the thing.

And that, is what makes one evolve and to me, is perhaps one of the main ingredients in this path.

One of the beautiful things about the mountaineering is that it really doesn't matter when you think you're ready, you also have to wait for the mountain to open the doors to have you. Last year I tried one time to finish bussines but dry conditions made the climb disappear...

I've been thinking about this experience a lot during last month in the Alps, the unparalleled quality and access to Alpine stuff here has been awesome to rethink and see with fresher eyes my projects in the Andes or the Himalaya.

Can't wait to come back home and finish bussines in that one some time.
